I wake up in the morning to my alarm I look over and see my ten-year-old self sleeping peacefully She stretches her legs and wakes up slowly I get up and get ready for work She stays in bed I put on makeup and do my hair She finally decides to get up and does nothing with her face or hair I put on clothes that cost me too much money She puts on clothes that her mom bought at Walmart I watch her walk into the kitchen and eat a bowl of cereal I never have time to eat I watch as she runs out the front door and gets on her bike I walk out the front door and get in my car I watch her take off at the speed of light Riding down the street and she turns left towards her friend's house I back out of the driveway slowly I drive down the street and turn right towards my job I look in the rearview mirror and see her Her hair is flying behind her from the wind I catch her glimpse of myself in the mirror My hair is flying behind me from the AC She probably has a couple of bucks in her pocket for ice cream I have a plastic card in my wallet for dinner She has no cell phone to distract her My phone screen lights up with an email alert She disappears from my view as she turns Her laughter echoing down the street She doesn't even glance back at me Why should she She doesn't know me I'm just a last driving down the street
